Lose Weight Fast and Easily – Here is What You Need to Know About Exercise
Exercising regularly, every day if possible, is the single most important thing you can do for your health. Not only will you be healthier and look better but you will also feel better, see results faster and most importantly, you will expect less of yourself.
It’s a shame most people focus way too much on the gym and use it as just a means to get some exercise. Gym memberships do not come with a year of diet or exercise programs, nor do they come with a year of vitamins or some other ‘must have’ item. It’s just one year and you own it.
Getting your ass to the gym is half the battle. Once you’re there, it’s time to use it. Exercise is an emotional thing. Most of us don’t have the balls to do what it takes to achieve our goals. There is a reason why many people ‘fail’ at their goals. The most important thing to do before you start is to have a clear idea of what you want to get out of it. How much weight have you lost, how many calories, how fast, etc. You must know exactly what it is that you want out of your exercise.
Think of exercise as a business transaction. You are either in or out. If you stay in too long you won’t get your money’s worth and you will resent that you even had the commitment. At this point I can only give you advice in how to get a lot more from your exercise. The key is to get lots of stimulation before you go into the gym. You must also know what you want to achieve and you must work hard to get it. In the gym you are working on more than just the exercise session. Your whole week must be structured around your objectives. You must have structure and discipline to support you to make the goals. Once you have this structure and discipline you will most certainly succeed. The key to succeeding is commitment.
Most people will tell you ‘well I just exercise once a week and that’s all I do’. While that may be enough to lose weight, it isn’t enough to achieve anything. Just a once a week exercise session isn’t enough if you want to make progress. A plan of action is needed. In order to achieve your goals you must know what you want, when you want it, and how much you need to exert yourself to get it.
For some of us an exercise session once a week is too much, and for others it is just right. We have to know which is our current state, and what our goals are. When you are in a state of dissatisfaction, frustration, or anger with your exercise, stop what you’re doing immediately, get some fresh air, and try again. When you have your goals and your plan, you will have achieved great success. Most people think they have to exercise more and more, until finally they get an excuse to stop. Just stop what you’re doing now, get your goals set, and make a plan for getting them.
I am in the middle of an exercise and diet journey myself. My plan is to exercise five days per week, and eat healthy on the other three. For example I will exercise Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and I will eat healthy on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
This is the first step to starting to lose weight. The exercise must be something you enjoy doing. If you hate running, then don’t run, walk. If you hate weight lifting, don’t lift. If you hate working out, work off time. The key is to keep it interesting. If you don’t enjoy something, you will not do it. If you don’t do it, you won’t lose weight.
This step requires a lot of planning. You will need to know exactly what you need to eat each day. You should plan out the days you eat healthy, and when you eat healthy. If you can only think of three meals in a day, then that is not good enough. You will need to look at your whole day, and see how much time you spend during the day where you can cut back on healthy eating.
It’s best to think of your exercise day first, because that is the one you will actually do it. Start small, but set goals. For example, “I will eat at least 5 servings of fruit per day tomorrow.” Or “I will get an ounce of fish per day.” You will need to keep that pace.
Make sure that your exercise and healthy eating goals are achievable. You will need to be able to reach these goals each day. There are many great diet books out, but I recommend the best for you to use is Eat Right For Your Body. This book will show you which foods will help you lose weight. This is great because you don’t want to give up fruits and vegetables, but it’s great to see what foods will help you lose weight.
The big secret in losing weight and getting healthy is a proper diet combined with exercise. Your exercise and healthy eating will not burn your fat. In order to burn your fat, you must watch what you eat, and make sure that your diet is balanced and has healthy foods.
The key is to plan. It’s time to get healthy and exercise.
